We’ve all got to eat, but if we’re not careful, the grocery bill can add up. You don’t have to cut back on your quality of live to achieve savings when it comes to your groceries. Here are a few cooking tips to get more from your pantry and more for your money, thanks to Living on a Dime.
- If your bread gets dried out, don’t throw it away. Spread it with some butter, sprinkle with garlic powder and Parmesan cheese and broil until brown for a delicious snack. You could also spread it with butter, cinnamon and sugar and broil.
- Leftover cornbread or cornbread muffins freeze well. You could even use the leftovers to crumble on top of chili or stew so save even the crumbs.
- Stretch leftover chili or Sloppy Joe mix by making nachos.
- Don’t keep buttermilk on hand, but need it every once in a while? Buy powdered buttermilk. It works great and lasts for ages. You can usually find it in the baking section at your grocery store.
